Codenames Duet is a version of the popular party game Codenames, adapted for 2 people.
Codenames Duet retains some of the key elements of the original game – giving word clues to get someone to guess your “agents” – but now you two work together towards a common goal, instead of fighting against each other.
25 words are laid out on the table. A “key card” is placed where you can see each other’s sides. Each player can then see the 5×5 cards on the table, where 9 are marked green (your agents) and 3 are black (assassins). Three of the nine green squares are also green on the other side of the card, but there are also 6 others that are green. At the same time, one of the black ones also goes again. Together, you must now find all 15 agents without hitting a black assassin before time runs out. Any of the players can choose to give a hint that the other player must then try to guess. If you hit an assassin, you lose!
